I'm obsessed (and I DON'T wear skirts/dresses!)! So, go for the skirt! That said, though, I'm wondering (from a practical perspective): what does the skirt actually do for you? I mean, you wear a pair of boy shorts under the skirt, right? So, is the skirt just to provide a screen for butt jiggling and thigh rubbing that would be unsightly to those behind you if you were just wearing the boy shorts? Regardless: GO FOR THE SKIRT!
