The rolling hills of San Fran

About a week ago I made an extremely interesting decision. Until a week ago I had every intention of running in the 30th anniversary Chicago marathon on Oct 7. That is, until I found out that first week in October I would have to be out of town for work, this is something that was set in stone. So instead of saying- you know, don’t know if I can be out of town that week for work- I changed marathons. The Nike Women’s marathon in San Fran is Oct 21, perfect, right? Yeah, talk about impulse decisions.

Last night I had my first cross training workout that was specific for the Nike Marathon runnings. Oh. My. God. I didn’t even know a treadmill could have a 10.0 incline, I felt like i was running up a 90 degree angle. But, I have to say, the workout I had last night was something that I never would have just done for fun on my own. Until I started this training an incline of 2.0 was a lot. I’m super proud of myself. My legs feel like they were stuffed with lead overnight, I think maybe I didn’t stretch enough, but none the less- it done now! Onto the next workout! The park to park 10k NYRR (New York Road Runner) race in Central Park tomorrow! If you’re around Central Park tomorrow morning at 8.30, come cheer on the Team in Training group, I’ll be leading the pack!
