I AM GETTING SO EXCITED!!! So I’ve hardly run this week, tapering. I have recently finished a nice plate of pasta for lunch and a bottle of Gatorate, carb-loading. And I’m just about ready to jump out from behind my desk! Traveling for the past 2 weeks certainly has left me a bit tired, but also eager to not work behind this desk. I’m antsy! Maybe it’s just the anticipation of the marathon on Sunday, but I need more! More of what? Maybe it’s simple stimulation from outside the 9-5 (8-8) routine. But what I do wonder, is if training has triggered something else inside my brain that wants me to achieve more, not sit on my ass and be complacent to the life I’ve become so blindly accustomed to. But really, I don’t know.
What I do know is that I’ve been mulling my race plan all day. So my most recent half marathon time was 1:54. I believe a realistic marathon goal time based off that is 4:10. My coach thinks that if I’m having a good day I could make 4:00. We’ll see! I just want to run! This is insanity. I’ve never wanted to run so badly in my life! Last night we did an easy 40 minutes, as we were going down the big hill in Prospect Park I yelled, “I want to do hill repeats!” The team thought I was NUTS. Which they might have been right about. Well, there will be plenty of hills in 4 days!
