All in all it was a good run on Saturday. We did 2 loops of Prospect Park, which is 6.8 miles. I did it in 64 minutes. Woohoo! I think I owe that in part to Ginnie, who ran with me the entire time. We had about the same pace and chatted most of the time! It’s great because when you run and talk it goes by faster and you actually forget that you’re running. I tried something new and had a cup of coffee about an hour before the run, it didn’t seem to bother me too much, but I could definitely feel when it was wearing off, around mile 5. That last hill was killer and I’m sure I had crazy runners eyes when I was done.
It was all worth it, we went to Dizzy’s on 9th street and 8th ave (in Park Slope, Brooklyn) afterwards and I had the most amazing plate of food imaginable. Pancakes, eggs, home fries, veggie sausage, yummmmmm. I highly recommend it.
