I'm an addict - can't be more than an arm's length from my water bottle at all times without experiencing anxiety!

I'd say take it if you're used to it. And, hand it off to a spectator or someone at a water station if you're in dire need to shed some pounds toward the end - who knows, such a "gift" could inspire someone else to start running...Wouldn't that be great?

Hi jenni,
We have a mutual friend, Alison, who I also call my cousin.
Thought I'd share my opinion on this with ya...

I train with a belt for runs > 10 miles, but cannot seem to deal with wearing my fuel belt for anything longer than 18 miles, and therefore, never wear it for my events, and constantly fight the urge to toss it after mile 18 on a 20 mile training run. I did wear it for the More half, and ended up totally dehydrated! I found myself avoiding water stops b/c I had my own, and it just wasn't enough.

With that said...for NYC...run with some money in your pocket, u can always stop at a deli and pick up some water or gatorade of you feel the course isn't giving you what you need.

Just my two cents...
Have a fantastic race!

I liked wearing one b/c the water stations were always so chaotic and I could just glide past the congested areas filled with thirsty runners.
