Paris through a runners eyes

jenni-running-paris.jpg

If you look very closely you can see me running.  This was taken on Sunday morning, October 7 as I ran along the Seine river in Paris.  There is a road lower than the main road along the Seine that is usually open to cars, but on Sunday mornings they close it so pedestrians, runners, bikers and rollerbladers get free reign.  It was so much fun.  Neil took this picture, he rented a bike and rode next to me as I ran 10 miles; down the Champs-Elysees past the Arc de Triomphe, onto the road by the Seine and to the Eiffel Tower.  Past the Musee d’Orsay, the Louvre, Notre Dame; it was wonderful.  And the weather was perfect.  I started my “carb loading” for the race a bit early! This was my first trip to Paris.  Even though I was there for work, it was such a great trip.

Jenni - I was getting worried I kept checking the blog with no update. I bet you are thrilled that you decided not to do Chicago! I LOVE Paris even though it poured the entire day I spent there in July. Your run sounds perfect, and how great that Neil rode along with you.

I will be thinking of you. Post your BIB number.

Carrying my bike up and down those steps was totally worth it! That was one of the most beautiful rides. Glad I was able to get an action shot along the river =)
